 Lot 224 – Rolex Made for Officine Panerai (CHF70,000 – CHF140,000)

It’s been 70 years since Lance Corporal Ernst D. from Germany joined the army. This watch is so rare that is it appears that only five examples of Radiomir ref 3646 was ever produced and handed out to the special team Task Force Keller that Ernst was part of. The Royal Italian Navy ordered the watches from Giuseppe Panerai who had the watches produced with his exact specifications by Rolex. The watch measure 47 mm wide and the cushion-shaped case has a 12 sided caseback with special engraving. Inside is the Rolex cal. 618 mechanical movement.

 Lot 136 – Patek Philippe, Sky Moon Tourbillion 5002P (CHF650,000 – CHF1,000,000)

This is a really complicated watch with 12 complications and double dial, all fitted inside the platinum case. The complications are “Cathedral” minute repeater, tourbillion, perpetual calendar, retrograde date, moon age and angular motion, sidereal time and sky chart to name some of them. The 5002 was produced from 2001 to 2011 with only 15 known platinum examples to surface the market. The Grand Master Chime wristwatch released in celebration of Patek Philippes 175th anniversary actually shares the same movement, to give you a perspective on how complicated this watch actually is.

This Rolex GMT Master ref 6542 from 1958 does not only have a case in excellent condition, it’s also tropical. You might as yourself why someone would pay major premium money for a dial that is rusty and the answer is – uniqueness. Many collectors like anomalies that makes watches produced in large volumes unique. The bezel is made out of bakelite, a unique material to produce a bezel of and just the bezel itself can cost over CHF10,000. The dial is tropic gilt and the case is in excellent condition, comes on a Oyster riveted bracelet. Inside the 38 mm case is the cal 1030.
