SIHH2015: Cartier ‘Tank’ Louis Cartier

By  |  0 Comments

Louis Cartier was all about art deco, but what does art deco have to do with skeleton Tank?

01 Front

The Tank is as iconic as Cartier itself, embodying elegant design with a little twist like the rounded of lugs at this new Tank. The Tank is still however a perfectly sized dress watch and it measure 30 x 39.2 mm with a manual winding mechanical movement. Inside is the caliber 9622 MC with 28,800 vibrations/hour and a power reserve approx. lasting 3 days.

01 Back2

Speaking about movement, the consists of 159 parts including 21 jewels. The skeleton is a rather bold move by Cartier but I have to admit looks amazing in reality and the clash between old design and a new visible movement reminds me a bit of steam punk.

This is in short a quite brilliant watch in 18k pink gold which I’m sure will be a future classic reference. Check out more by clicking here.
